Thank you team Travec! In general, we are risk adverse people. Additionally, we grew up in households that didn't travel internationally. But we want something different for our children. Travec has given us this gift. We've experienced parts of the world and people we would not have without their support. Mexico City is no different. We, of course, saw the touristy sights but almost always a little differently than the average tourist. We got to meet and interact with locals and experience the city the way they would. Having Travec plan this trip gave us the confidence and peace of knowing that it would be just what we were looking for...all we had to do was pack our bags and enjoy! Must dos for other families looking for a similar trip: Xochimilco (with the family themed tour, including of a farm and Axolotls), Market shop and salsa making class (would use Jazz again if possible), Teotihuacan pyramids. Our Lady of Guadalupe is an especially special pilgrimage spot for Catholic travelers. We also really made the most of down time to wander around the city and enjoy parks and food.

I loved our trip. My girls had a blast, my husband and I had so much fun actually being able to talk and hangout with other adults while our kids played, and the whole itinerary was perfect. I loved the cultural immersion side of it, meeting the local friends and hanging out with them, my girls going to school in Peru AND LOVING IT!!! and of course seeing Machu Picchu, the sacred valley etc. Peru is a fantastic destination, and one that can easily become overwhelming, especially with little kids. I felt the way TRAVEC planned it made it so easy for us to enjoy. I can honestly say I would've struggled to and through putting this trip together myself and it would've NOT been as enjoyable, educational and well planned out. I also thought it had a great combination of activities vs optional down time and I loved it included so much about the current Peruvian culture, as well as the historic one. and their on the ground team was great, especially Belina who went above and beyond with our group.

We had such an amazing time on our family trip to Mérida with Travec. Traveling with other families made it extra special. Our kids instantly connected and loved having built-in friends throughout the trip. It was so great to watch them try new things and step outside their comfort zones in such a natural way, exploring new foods and putting their Spanish to work. The food was incredible, we’re still talking about it! The experiences were unforgettable. Swimming in cenotes felt magical, and climbing the pyramids in Uxmal was one of those “wow, we’re really here” moments. Everything just came together—great people, meaningful experiences, and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time. Our kids didn’t want to leave, and honestly, neither did we.”

Our Quepos trip was truly an incredible experience that was equal parts culture, connection, and adventure. Our trip leader, Becky, and city host, Heidy, were so generous and elevated our trip experience. We had thrilling zip line and waterfall experiences, explored Manuel Antonio National Park, experienced countless exciting animal sightings (sloths, monkeys, macaws, and more!), made new friends in our hometown of Grand Rapids, MI and Quepos, CR, enjoyed authentic Costa Rican food, delicious fresh fruit smoothies, and, of course, "copoz" on the beach... I could go on and on. Quepos is such a beautiful and friendly destination and Travec allows you to go deeper into an immersive travel experience far beyond a typical vacation. Because we were in a group, our children borrowed courage from the other kids and took off speaking Spanish with the locals. Following our cooking lesson with Chef Eli, my ten-year-old, who is typically shy to use her Spanish outside of her language immersion school, said, "Speaking Spanish to someone who doesn't speak English gave me purpose and made me want to speak the best I could." I'm not sure how we'll ever top this travel experience! Thank you Travec!
