Fly into Medellin Airport (MDE) and be greeted by our city host with transportation to your accommodations. Get settled in, visit a nearby supermarket, or check out Insider Information for a great place for dinner.

Day 1

An iconic event in Medellin, the flower festival, will be recreated for us at a traditional restaurant where you will meet your City Friends, enjoy Colombian Cuisine.

Day 2

Get a close up look at all that Medellin has to offer. We will visit Plaza Botero, Palacio Nacional, Alpujarra, and Parques Del Rio.

Day 3

Choose an add-on, meet up with your City Friends, or use Insider Information to explore on your own! In the afternoon the kids are invited to a chocolate-making class! They will learn the process from bean to bar!

Day 4

Guatapé is known for its colorful zócalos and stunning lake views. Just two hours from Medellín, it sits by the Peñol-Guatapé Reservoir, offering water activities and scenic boat tours. Its top attraction, El Peñón de Guatapé, is a massive rock with 740 steps leading to breathtaking panoramic views.

Learn how to make two common snacks in Colombia, empanadas and arepas! Chef Marcela and her husband are knowledgeable AND fun!

Day 8

Cisneros is a small town in the Antioquia department of Colombia, known for its historical ties to the railway and its lush, mountainous surroundings. Visitors can explore remnants of the railway, enjoy nearby rivers and waterfalls, and experience local traditions.

Day 9

Say goodbye to our City Host and your City Friends and depart back to Grand Rapids with a new love for Colombia!
